Govinda is one of the most popular stars in Bollywood. The actor delivered many hits back in the 80s and 90s, but since then, his career seems to have hit a rough patch. For the past couple of years, he has been neglected and ignored by ones he was most closest to in the industry. He’s also never shied away from speaking against filmmaker Karan Johar.
Back in 2017, Govinda’s film Aa Gaya Hero was slated to release, soon after which Karan released Badrinath Ki Dulhania, reported Koi Moi. In an earlier interview, he had also said that Karan was not “kind-hearted” and he never found him to be “innocent”. Govinda told Pinkvilla: “He has never called me in 30 years. He doesn’t see actors who are not the part of his group and doesn’t even say hello. It’s a well-planned and smart move by Karan that he’s releasing his film a week after mine.”
Karan and Govinda also had a fall out when talks of inviting the latter to Koffee with Karan started making rounds. Govinda shared that he had never been invited to which Karan had issued an apology, which he did not accept. He instead commented that the apology probably made to save himself from national embarassment. Govinda continued: “He shows that he’s very humble and innocent, but he’s more jealous and dangerous than David Dhawan to me.”
